Rocks of home!
Sea and foam,
Best on the pilot's station,
See where his flag is hoisted high
He opens the gates as the ships come by
The vessals of ev'ry nation.

Skagerak!
Never lack
Courage those who come your way;
Arctic, North Sea, Atlantic tide,
Snow and mist may destruction hide;
This know the seamen of Norway.

Leaving shore,
Safe no more,
Sailors their course are bending,
Following their trade on the ocean deep,
Sailing till life has its ending.

Notes:
At this stage in the series,  'Singing Together' and 'Rhythm and Melody' were printed in the same booklet.  This piece appears to be more connected with 'Rhythm and Melody' in that many of the notes have specific accents, and the later verses have slightly variations on the tune (which is not unusual) but the expected changes are shown (which is more unusual in the series).

I'm not sure that it's clear how the words fit the music in verses 2 and 3. As I seem to be unable to reproduce this as I'd like using abc, here is a scan of the score:

Thanks so much for posting the words to this song, dmcg

 I have been searching the net for it for at least 12 years, (and thinking I had imagined it) checking every six months or so. I knew it was about 1958-60 when I was at a tiny rural primary school in the UK; Singing Together, Rhythm and Melody etc. were our link with the outside world. Do you know who wrote it? Thanks again.

All I know about is what's printed at the top of the scanned image, eg music by Grieg.

Although I remember the melody very well, I can't say the same for the words.

However, I do seem to recall verse 2 starting like this -

Skagerak!

never lack

Norwegian sailors know this.

I suppose it's possible that my music teacher, seeing the same problem as you, made the change. Certainly, it makes the metre similar to verses 1 and 3 but then, there would need to be a replacement for the final line in verse 2 and that's is where my memory lets me down.
