Tommy make way for your Uncle.

Tommy make way for your Uncle, you know it's Saturday night,
And after tea is over he wants to smoke his pipe.
You know he's got his wages, although it's very few.
So! Be a good boy, and don't annoy, make room for your Uncle do!

Notes:

Alan Helsdon notes:
In Folk Music Journal 1978 by AMH/PC from their researches in Hindringham Norfolk. A very widespread tune.

Is Helsdon quoting this from the Journal? There is some variation in the text, but the tune seems to be identical (though I wonder if you might perhaps have made a few slips in the abc?)

I see Alan most Thursday nights at a session. I will clarify then.

The abc is a direct translation from the book. The only mistake I can see is in the sheet music, where there is no space between the tied 'A's and the A quaver in the 4th bar. Looking back at the abc I'm sure that I have a space there. However, I am quite capable of making errors even though I double and treble check! I will always welcome help.
